Regulation for Turkish Straits and Turkish ports due to
Covid-19 (Corona Virus)

Countries concerned by the Restrictions:

China, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Iraq, South Korea, Iran, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Netherland England, Switzerland, S. Arabia, Egypt, Ireland, United Arab Emirates, Greece and Bulgaria (Updated on 19/03/2020)

A) If vessels call ports of above countiries 15 days prior to arrival Turkish Straits

Turkish Straits

Once the listed documents are provided and vessel passes Sanitary Control, she will be free from restrictions.

  • Maritime health declaration form with appendix form (attached)
  • Last 10 ports of call list
  • Crew list with embarkation place and date of all crew
  • List of all crew body temperature last 3 days before arrival
  • On arrival date List of all crew body temperature list

Master have to send to above documents by email or online  before vessel arrival to  entrance of Turkish Straits (Çanakkale or Bosphorus) min 2 days (Turkey General Directorate of Border and Coastal Health Center )

also master if he wants, he can send health maritime declaration electronically at the address

If master cannot send them the documents please send them to us and we shall send them on behalf of the master.

For Sanitary control entrance Of Çanakkale or Bosphorus

If sanitary controls are being performed either after entering to the Turkish Straits. Sanitary control authority is approaching to the vessel by sanitary boat and an officer is boarding the vessel for control.

In this sanitary controls, below documents are imperatively required :

  • Maritime health declaration with appendix
  • Last 10 ports of call list
  • Crew list with embarkation place and date of all crew
  • On arrival date List of all crew body temperature list
  • Tonnage certificate (1 copy)
  • Cargo manifest (1 copy if cargo on board)
  • Ship’s stamp sof signing docs

Turkish Ports

Once the listed documents are provided and vessel passes Sanitary Control she will be free from restrictions

B) If vessels call port above restriction countries in the last 14 days.

Turkish Straits

  • Signing off crew passengers or technician are not possible
  • Technician cannot be visited
  • Ship Chandler Provisions, Store etc. can be supplied, but not taken any parts or document from the vessel
  • Signing on Crew can be embarked

Turkish Ports

  • Vessels can berth to pier for loading / discharging (except shipyard)
  • Signing off crew, passengers or technician are not possible
  • Shore passes are not given for crew
  • Provisions, store etc. can be supplied, but cannot taken any parts of documents from the vessel
  • Signing on Crew can be embarked
  • Technician can be visited

For Turkish Straits and Turkish Ports

Pilotage service

Crew of the ship which will meet the pilot and be combined with the pilot on the bridge. It is mandatory to use protective equipment, protective mask (especially N95 type) and gloves.

Ships have to inform Directorate General of Border and Coastal Health about their arrival 48 & 24 hours before.

Agency service and or all supplies

Crew of the ship which will meet suppliers or agency It is mandatory to use protective equipment, protective mask (especially N95 type) and gloves.

Any technician or crew member or representative, which are coming from restricted countries will not be granted access to the vessel.

All these information and practices may change at any day and any time

Some Turkish port ask as follow:

Regardless of which country and port it came from, an updated copy of the ship’s health practice will be presented to the port with the agency’s approval, and the ship operations will be started after these controls.

Crew change of the ships, personnel needs, departure and joining the ship, etc. In cases, ring services of our port will not be used and transfers will be provided through the agency.

Ship crew will use N95 type protective mask and gloves while transferring with the vehicles provided by the agency.

In cases where the ship’s authorized personnel need to board the ship for various checks, beside their personal protective equipment It is mandatory to use N95 type protective mask and gloves.

It is obligatory for agency personnel who need to board the ship to wear N95-type protective masks and gloves in addition to their personal protective equipment.
